The minute I saw this Echino fabric I was in love – and the love grows every day I see it! It is so beautiful all by itself – it doesn’t really need to be made into anything. Little people would probably find it hard to play with fabric draped over them though – so I started my Echino sewing adventures with a skirt for my wee one.

Here she is in her new skirt, which she loves (and notice again is not pink!).

It’s gorgeous – but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was wrong with it…until I graded the pattern down to fit a 2 year old and found that the smaller (supposedly size 2) skirt actually looks much cuter on than this long one.

So I’m going to change this from a long skirt to a much shorter skirt. And why does that matter? Because as soon as I get the pattern finished I’ll be sending it out with any purchase of this gorgeous fabric. So that you don’t have to drape it over your little one – although I can assure you that looks good too :)
